Korean ECAs supported financing for Seaspan Corp’s purchase of 10 x 15,000 TEU vessels under construction at SHI with JOLCO option. The 10 vessels are LNG dual fueled brand new containerships and meet the EU Taxonomy criteria for energy efficiency (EEDI). 

The vessels will run on LNG, with pathway towards bio-LNG. Under the EU taxonomy bio-methane qualify as a fuel coming from renewal source, which is making this transaction eligible for Positive Impact Finance. 

Seaspan is working towards decarbonization by reducing their emissions and improving their AER/EEDI.
