The Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB), in partnership with First Nation company Tlingit Homeland Energy Limited Partnership (THELP), has committed $80 million towards the Atlin Hydroelectricity Expansion project in British Columbia, Canada. The expansion comprises a new 9.2MW hydroelectric facility and 93km transmission line to deliver clean power to the isolated Yukon microgrid and reduce dependence on diesel for power generation. Yukon Energy signed an agreement with THELP in February 2022 to buy electricity from the expansion, starting in late 2024. Construction is expected to cost C$206 million ($163 million). The project, on Pine Creek, currently has a capacity of 2.1 MW.
